The First United Methodist Church underwent a two-story Narthex addition, which expanded the front entry by over 2,500 square feet. The addition included a new air-lock vestibule, an enlarged outer narthex area, and a stair tower.
In the basement, extra storage and a new mechanical room were added. Complete mechanical and electrical alterations were made, including the installation of emergency lighting in both the new and existing buildings.
The second phase of the project involved the construction of a larger fellowship addition with a kitchen facility designed to serve 200-300 people, as well as a ‘coffee bar’ adjacent to the church narthex. An elevator was also added.
