Currently, there are four positions open at Kingery Construction Co.: laborer, carpenter, estimator (PM) and superintendent.   • LABORER

    Construction Laborer

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Performing various tasks on the construction site. Some of the tasks may include: removing rubble, cleaning, digging, cutting, general carpentry work, jack-hammering, moving materials, light demolition, assisting carpenters.
    • Must possess a valid driver license.
    • High School graduate or GED required.
    • Must have the ability to read and speak English.
    • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe manner following direction from the site superintendent and understand OSHA guidelines.
    • Must have no felony convictions on your record.
    • Must be at work on time, be able to work with others, be self-motivated, take direction and work strenuously with your hands.
    • Must be able to lift 100 lbs. and remain on foot throughout the entirety of the work day.

  • CARPENTER

    Carpenter

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Perform various tasks on the construction site. Some of the tasks may include: digging, cutting, general carpentry work, finish carpentry, door & hardware installation, jack hammering, moving materials, selective demolition, concrete work, layout, framing, drywall, painting and cleaning.
    • Ability to read construction blueprints and complete construction based on the blueprint.
    • Must possess a valid driver license.
    • High School graduate or GED required.
    • Must have the ability to read and speak English.
    • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe manner following direction from the site superintendent and understand OSHA guidelines.
    • Must have no felony convictions on your record.

  • ESTIMATOR (PM)

    Estimator | Project Manager

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the preparation of estimates. Will work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and others.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required; meticulous attention to detail.
    • Review plans and specifications, attend pre-bid meetings, determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
    • Prepare estimates by calculating various statistical data, prepare quantity takeoff, labor and material pricing and equipment costs.
    • Create, send and manage subcontractor and material supplier requests for pricing.
    • Review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, quality or availability of materials.
    • Interpret project plans and specifications.
    • Effectively present information to top management and public groups.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations; calculate mathematical extensions. Must have good knowledge of geometric formulas and equations required to calculate quantities in performing quantity takeoffs and estimating.
    • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, in addition to a general understanding of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
    • Organize, manage, process and complete all payment applications and other reports in a timely manner.
    • Must posses an excellent knowledge of estimating and scheduling software, internet and project management software, spreadsheet and word processing software.
    • Frequently work within tight time restraints to quickly place bids on jobs or help determine the cost feasibility.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with owners and architects.
    • Responsible for the overall project including cost, schedule, quality, safety and promoting a good relationship with the client.
    • Write subcontract and material purchase order agreements using the company’s standard forms; track and monitor the issuance and return in a contract log.
    • Create a computerized schedule with assistance from the superintendent, subcontractors and material suppliers, with regular updates.
    • Use the company’s computer system, records, files, and programs for estimating and project management, Microsoft Windows and other programs as needed.
    • Must posess a valid driver license.
    • Must be able to read and speak English.

  • SUPERINTENDENT

    Superintendent

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Review constructability options and recommend the best solution based on cost, quality or availability of materials.
    • Must be able to read and speak English.
    • Interpret the plans and specifications.
    • Effectively present information to top management and public groups.
    • Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations and calculate mathematical extensions. Must have good knowledge of geometric formulas and equations required to calculate quantity for material and labor calculations.
    • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Responsible for the overall project including cost, schedule, quality, safety and promoting a good relationship with the client.
    • Assist in creating a schedule with the project manager, subcontractors and material suppliers.
    • Use the company’s computer system and programs for Microsoft Windows and other programs as needed.
    • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
    • Order materials and coordinate subcontractors work.
    • Will schedule inspections.
    • Must maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
    • Prepare schedules and supervise completion of a final punch list.
    • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and correct job site hazards immediately.
    • Maintain an organized job site, including the construction office.
    • Must possess a valid driver license.
    • Must have no felony convictions on record.
